I’ve been a longtime fan of progressive rock impresario Steven Wilson. From Porcupine Tree to his work as a audiophile’s dream producer of Marillion, King Crimson and (soon) XTC, Wilson is serious about what matters to me: thoughtful music, haunted storytelling, audio and multi-platform, multi-channel media.
His new solo album, The Raven That Refused to Sing (And Other Stories) continues to dominate my headphones as high-resolution 96khz/24-bit FLAC files on my Galaxy Note 2. As I walk the streets of Austin here at SXSW Edu (and later Interactive) I can’t get the climax of the final, title track out of my head. And the video is equally stunning. Highly recommended.
